McCall's Pumpkin Patch in Moriarty New Mexico

McCall's Pumpkin Patch is located in a farming community outside of Albuquerque in Moriarty New Mexico. We like to go there every year and so far every year has gotten better. The price of admission is under $10 per person and all of the activities are free once you are inside. You are allowed to bring your own food in which is great for families and they have multiple picnic areas to eat at.

There are many activities for the whole family to enjoy and we had a great time this year. Here are some of the fun things to do:
  • Corn Maze
  • Tractor Ride to Pumpkin patch
  • Petting Zoo
  • Bunny Town
  • Corn box
  • Jumbo Air bag jumper
  • Kids jumper
  • Kids pedal cars
  • Adult pedal cars

Great Weekend Trip on Vallecito Lake, Colorado!

Just got back from an awesome weekend trip in Vallecito Colorado. Wonderful national forests, beautiful views, and stayed in a great cabin at The Blue Spruce RV Park and Cabins. We loved our cabin that comfortably slept four people. There was so much to see and do that one weekend was not enough time to do it all. We will be back for more. Check out the Blue Spruce Cabins at http://www.bluesprucervpark.com/.

Funtime in the Fall

Fall is upon us. This is my favorite time of year. Cool weather, falling leaves, the big harvest, and the great pumpkin help make autumn a great time of year. My favorite things to do are to go to the pumpkin patches where most big farms have a large operation with lots of things to do for the whole family. Our local pumpkin farm not only provides the best pumpkins but they offer tractor rides, haunted houses, animals, petting zoo, corn mazes and lots of yummy foods. Check out your local pumpkin farm for the same kind of fall fun.

Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center in Alpena, MI

The Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center in Alpena, Michigan is a must see for any visitor to upper Michigan area of the lower peninsula. The history is absolutley amazing. I had no idea that the Great Lakes had claimed so many ships to their storms and rocky shores. They shows maps of where a lot of the shipwrecks are located and most are active dive sites. Here is a link to there website: http://thunderbay.noaa.gov/maritime/glmhc.html

Hotels and Kids

Our number first deciding factor on choosing a hotel is if it has a pool. Pools are an absolute must for traveling children. They need it to burn off the energy that build up form being stuck in a seat most of the day. It also helps them settle down before sleeping in a strange place. Second factor is of course the price and a close third is location.

Traveling with Children on Southwest Airlines

This came as a pleasant surprise this past summer, Southwest Airlines announced right before our trip that children's extra necessary items could be checked in free of charge. This allowed us to not have to use our two free checked items for the pack n play crib and car seats. This was awesome and we were able to bring more toddler items with us on our vacation.

Frontier Airlines

I recently took a Frontier Airlines flight which I do not normally do but they had the best price for that day I needed to travel. I always thought that Frontier was a budget airline and that things would not be so nice with them. It turns out that I was flat wrong. I really enjoyed my flight with Frontier. The planes were new, spacious, and clean. The flight attendants were excellent as well. There were even TV's in the headrests of all of the seats in front of you. I really enjoyed flying with them.
