1989 Skamper 240C Pop Up Camper
We will now be embarking on a new adventure in frugal traveling. We purchased a very affordable 1989 Skamper pop up model #240C. It needs some work but it is definitely a great start for our family to begin camping. Check out the pictures and come back often. We will be showing the work we will be doing to get our new used Skamper camper up to snuff for many more years of camping fun.

Travel for this Summer
The high cost of airfare will be pushing us to travel by vehicle this year instead of flying east. This is a good thing since we are planning to go to Yellowstone National Park. Everything is still in the planning stages but I look forward to bringing lots of great pictures back.

Upcoming Summer Travel Plans
Hi All,
This summer will probably include road trips in the car instead of air travel. Prices are going up on airfare and I have lots of people to pay for tickets. We are starting to look at our options but the possibilities are exciting. WE are looking at visiting Utah.

McCall's Pumpkin Patch in Moriarty New Mexico
McCall's Pumpkin Patch is located in a farming community outside of Albuquerque in Moriarty New Mexico. We like to go there every year and so far every year has gotten better. The price of admission is under $10 per person and all of the activities are free once you are inside. You are allowed to bring your own food in which is great for families and they have multiple picnic areas to eat at.
There are many activities for the whole family to enjoy and we had a great time this year. Here are some of the fun things to do:

Great Weekend Trip on Vallecito Lake, Colorado!
Just got back from an awesome weekend trip in Vallecito Colorado. Wonderful national forests, beautiful views, and stayed in a great cabin at The Blue Spruce RV Park and Cabins. We loved our cabin that comfortably slept four people. There was so much to see and do that one weekend was not enough time to do it all. We will be back for more. Check out the Blue Spruce Cabins at http://www.bluesprucervpark.com/.

Funtime in the Fall
Fall is upon us. This is my favorite time of year. Cool weather, falling leaves, the big harvest, and the great pumpkin help make autumn a great time of year. My favorite things to do are to go to the pumpkin patches where most big farms have a large operation with lots of things to do for the whole family. Our local pumpkin farm not only provides the best pumpkins but they offer tractor rides, haunted houses, animals, petting zoo, corn mazes and lots of yummy foods. Check out your local pumpkin farm for the same kind of fall fun.

Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center in Alpena, MI
The Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center in Alpena, Michigan is a must see for any visitor to upper Michigan area of the lower peninsula. The history is absolutley amazing. I had no idea that the Great Lakes had claimed so many ships to their storms and rocky shores. They shows maps of where a lot of the shipwrecks are located and most are active dive sites. Here is a link to there website: http://thunderbay.noaa.gov/maritime/glmhc.html
